I Didn’t Feel Like Exercising This Week…

Written by Jonathan

and I’m not going to lose a wink of sleep over it.

I only exercised a fraction as much this week as I usually do and it doesn’t bother me in the slightest.

You might be asking yourself, why? Aren’t all ‘fitness guys’ supposed exercise in their sleep?

Nope, believe it or not we’re real people too. This week I needed to get some really important things done and I crushed it. That’s what was important for me this week, we have so many things happening that won’t materialize for 3 to 6 months but I’m really excited about all of them. Today I want to share with you how I was able to be more productive in less time and I was actively able to choose to get more things completed.

It started last weekend when I re-discovered the book Getting Things Done by David Allen. I say re-discovered because I started reading it 3 years ago and felt like it was going to be too much work to actually organize everything as well as it needed to be. Except now there is an App called Evernote that is really simple to use and it allows you to create your buckets and clearly define your tasks. When you have clearly defined tasks, are able to prioritize them and schedule them directly into your calendar it’s a lot easier to get them done.

When I need to do something I email it to Evernote straight into my collection bucket, every night before I go to bed I organize that bucket into the appropriate spaces, schedule it in my calendar and then I get it done at that time. When it’s done I delete it and boy is it ever freeing. I don’t have any clutter in my mind because I created a bullet proof system that works for me.

I know you’re at least a little bit different, but I know not ‘having time’ to exercise is a life management issue not a fitness management issue and I hope these tools can help you in some way. I recommend them both.
