We Need Your Help!Posted on June 13, 2015
Many of you don’t realize this but 3 years ago I was ‘forced’ to buyout my old business partner. It was an amicable split, our original business model wasn’t working and neither one of us knew how to fix it. She was offered a position that was too good for her to turn down so she took it. I retracted the company to just myself for a year and balanced our books again. I did a lot of contemplating about what needed to change and what needed to stay the same for us to be successful going forward. I have started to make those changes and put more emphasis on what needed to stay the same, some of the changes have not worked out but most have. Here is a short list of some of the changes I have made and some of our values.
1. I want to treat all of our employees with respect, the same way as I would want to be treated if I worked for me.
2. We need to deliver the highest level of anti-fad service possible to our clients. Period.
3. We need to find ways to help our clients outside of their sessions, with their motivation, habits and time management. Help them effectively change their behaviour.
Our first clause speaks for itself, the second one is harder because people (even you, our client) have trouble differentiating between legitimate and fad driven information, which can cause confusion and occasional ‘second guessing’. Our third clause is by far the most challenging, you know you need to exercise more than two times a week but you probably don’t, you know you should eat less and probably more healthfully but don’t and you know you might die early if you don’t do the two aforementioned things but still aren’t motivated to change.
Why do you think that is?
I know I’m supposed to be Mr. Health Guy and sometimes I skip exercise or eat the whole tray of cookies and I don’t know why, so let’s get to the bottom of this together.
That’s why we need your help. We’re starting a podcast so we can reach more people like you and deliver you legitimate information so you can pick and choose what works for you and live more healthfully. I am sick and tired of fad driven ‘body transformation’ lose 10 lbs. in a week B.S. and it is hard to find popular information to the contrary.
Each show is going to follow 1 of 3 formats. Either myself interviewing a leading researcher in the health field, a regular person that has successfully made healthy life changes that stuck (their story, why and how they made a change) or a solo show where I talk about some of the things I learned, Q & A and inspirational client stories.
We need people to interview, specifically people that managed to make their health a priority and ultimately changed their life. Our only caveat is they cannot be a current or past client of Fitness For Freedom – this isn’t a testimonial show.
Please contact us if you know someone that you think might be interested in doing this.
Thanks and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
